Export & import texts for translations

In the menu "More" of the questionnaire editor you will find the possibility to export the texts of a survey into an Excel file for translations (#-1) and then to import them again (#-2).

When exporting, each selected language is exported to a separate column in an Excel file: Example-Excel-File

In order to import the file again after translating the texts, the basic structure of the file must not be changed. When editing, only the texts in the respective language should be added.

The following procedure is recommended:
- Create the complete survey in a basic language (e.g. German or English) - depending on what the translation wants as the basic language. Enter all texts that are to be translated completely in the basic language.
- Set up the languages to be translated in the questionnaire editor. In contrast to the basic language, you do not need to enter the texts for the languages to be translated, as these can be imported via the Excel file after translation.
- Export of the texts in the completely created basic language and the selected languages to be translated. You will then find all texts of the survey in the basic language in one column of the Excel file and the selected languages to be translated in further columns. The columns with the languages to be translated are empty if no texts have been entered for them yet.
- Excel file for translation and enrich the other language(s) in the other columns.
- Then import the Excel file with the translations of the additional language(s), each in separate additional columns.

Using the above procedure, either an Excel file with all languages (several language columns in one file) or a separate Excel file per language can be exported or imported.
